**Remembering Victor Brox: A Musical Friendship**

Every Sunday, I would dedicate my time to a special ritual that intertwined my passion for music and community with an unforgettable friendship. This tradition revolved around supporting a remarkable musician, Victor Brox, as he busked on the streets. Our encounters became not just weekly routines but profound exchanges that enriched my life and shaped my understanding of music's societal role. Victor Brox was no ordinary busker. With his guitar slung across his back and a voice that could capture the far reaching essence of blues and folk, he stood out in the bustling city. I remember the first time I heard him play. His music had a way of echoing through the crowded streets, compelling everyone to pause and take in the moment. It was this magnetic charm that drew me in every week, and soon, I found myself listening in awe of his talent.

Our Sundays began with me arriving at his usual spot, before he strummed his first chord. We would chat about music, life, and everything in between as the sun embraced the grey and sometimes blue sky. I was a trader by profession, but those moments spent with Victor transcended financial transactions. They reminded me of what truly mattered—connection, creativity, and the human spirit. His stories were as captivating as his music; he spoke candidly about his experiences, the struggles of being a performer, and the joy that music brought him. One of the favourite parts of our Sunday routine was the walk to the nearby bakery to buy an apple pie after his set. Victor had a penchant for the simple joys in life, and that pie was one of them. Each time we walked down the street, I felt a sense of camaraderie. We'd exchange stories about treasures uncovered as antique hunters, creating a bond that felt as warm and comforting as the pie itself. It was these small moments that fuelled our friendship. His humility and genuine nature were always a reminder that what mattered most wasn't fame or recognition, but the human connections we nurture along the way.

Sadly, Victor passed away in 2023, leaving a profound void in the lives of those who knew him. His death served as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the beauty preserved in our memories. Yet, despite the sorrow of his absence, I find solace in the many lessons he taught me. Music is not just notes played on an instrument; it is a lifeline that connects us to one another, a form of expression that transcends language and culture. Victor embodied this philosophy. He poured his heart into every performance, reminding us of the raw emotions that music can evoke. As I reflect on my Sundays spent with Victor, I realise that the true essence of our friendship was not only in the notes he played but in the spirit with which he shared them. His passion, humility, and unwavering dedication to his craft will always serve as a reminder of what it means to live fully and authentically. Though he is no longer with us, Victor Brox's legacy endures in the hearts of those he touched. Every time I hear a strum of the guitar or the echo of a heartfelt melody, I am transported back to those Sundays. I will always cherish the memories we created together, and the many lessons he imparted through his music and friendship.
